Frequently asked questions about the OECD

The University of Costa Rica, through the Center for Research and Training in Public Administration, has been monitoring Costa Rica's accession to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). This longitudinal study has meant two 4-year research projects and, through a graduation seminar, another comparative study of the accessions of Mexico, Chile and Colombia to identify obstacles and opportunities that the country may have in the framework of involvement as the 38th member of that Organization, however, Costa Rica for some years had signed the implementation of the OECD Guidelines as well as 10 other countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Peru, Romania and Tunisia.
